Simple, low-cost web site management
So you're ready to sign up with Webtendant for simple, low cost web hosting and site management. That's great! Here's what you need to know.
All Webtendant sites are free for the first 30 days, or until you are ready to put the site into production (whichever comes first). This means that you can create your site, add content, and see if you like it, all without spending any money.
When you're ready to start, click on the Sign Up Now link to the right. You will be taken to a registration form where you'll enter your personal contact information. You must enter a valid email address. This will serve as your Login ID for all access to the Webtendant.com web site.
Once you've entered all of your information, click on Continue.
When our system processes your registration, we will generate a password and send it to you via email at the address that you provided. This happens automatically - you should generally receive the email within a minute or two.
We issue your password in this manner to ensure that we have contact information for you. If you do not provide a valid email address. you will not receive a password and will not be able to continue.
You can now use your email address and password to log via the box to the right. Please note that passwords are case sensitive (this means that "mom" and "MOM" are not the same).
After logging in, we suggest that you click on My Profile and change your password to something that you can remember. The passwords that we generate are not memorable!
When you log in, you'll be placed in your Account Manager. To create your web site, click on the Create a Site link. You'll need to select your site keyword, your feature package, and your billing cycle. Then click Continue. You'll be asked to confirm your selections, and agree to the Terms of Service. And that's it. Your site will be created.
When you first look at your site, it will be void of content. But the site basics will all be there. You'll have the site layout and the navigation bar. Now it's time to explore the capabilities of Webtendant!
Your site is initially created in a "temporary location" on our server. You'll notice that the address of your site is www.webtendant.com/sites/yoursite. You can fill out the content of your site while it's in this temporary location. When you are ready for the world to see your site, let us know and we'll re-locate it to it's permanent location (probably www.yourdomain.com).
We use this temporary location so that you can create and modify your site before you pay us. Your site will look exactly the same when it is moved to it's final location.
