No, you are not required to have a domain name. All Webtendant sites can use a subdomain of Webtendant (yoursite.webtendant.com). For small clubs, this might be fine. But for any business, no matter how small, the minor investment in a domain name makes the business look so much more professional.
Yes. You can post any document from your somputer to your web site. The easiest way to do this on on a Publications Page. Every Webtendant site has at least one of these.
No. While we host web sites, we are a Web Site Management company. Your only access to your web site is via our Content Management tools (Page Editor, Site Manager, etc). With an appropriate package, you can upload files to the site via the content management tools.
Yes and no. You do not get full email accounts. But you do get email forwarders. This means that we will set up email addresses (like "joe@yourdomain.com", and any email sent to that address will be forwarded to your existing email address.
Email forwarders are supported on any account that has it's own domain name.
This is totally up to you. With our Content Editor, updating your own site is about as complicated as sending email. Updating the site yourself is certainly the cheapest option in terms of cash outlay.
Of course time is money, and time spent updating your web site is time you could be spending on other areas of your business. We can manage the content of your web site and make all updates for you. If we manage your content, standard consulting fees apply for for the time we spend working on your site.
This depends on how complicated your wite will be, and how much content you plan to have on the site. It only takes a few minutes to set up the skeleton of your site - but there will be no content. Most sites can be completely up and running within a week.
